Corgi's second casting of the Chevrolet Impala from the mid-60s gave rise to a taxi (Corgi 480), a police car (Corgi 481) and this striking Chevrolet Fire Chief (Corgi 482) resplendent in a red and white livery.

Both the fire and police versions included driver and passenger figures, whereas the taxi had just a driver. With a blue emergency light, as opposed to the police car's red light, the Fire Chief Car was given 'Fire Dept' door stickers, with 'Fire Chief' in bold white lettering across the bonnet. The most noticeable aspect of Corgi's second Impala casting was its split die-cast body. This allowed the two halves to be painted separately, which avoided errors and wastage. The Chevrolet Fire Chief's car was in the Corgi range from 1965 to 1969.
