Hard to find signed pair of circa 1840-1850 cast iron butt hinges by the T. & C. Clark Co.  Made in England and shipped to the United States sometime after the War of 1812 when things settled down between the Uninted States and Great Britian.  Each hinge measures 4" top to bottom and 3 1/2" wide when laid open. 

T. & C. Clark & Company Limited, was based at Shakespeare Foundry, was founded in England in 1795 by Thomas and Charles Clark, and grew to be one of the largest iron foundries in Wolverhampton. Their hinges were very well received in the US market along the Eastern Sea Board.

Add a few screws and this set is ready for your project.
