JULIE LONDON Calendar Girl 1957 LP UK Import Jazz Pop Vocal

1. In the " item specifics "section of this listing seller is referring to "calendar girl" only just like in this section. "Calendar Girl" is another solid Julie London record album featuring the sensuous, sultry and sexy vocal stylings of Julie London. This vinyl record has been play tested and plays through without any issues. There are no pops or skips and there is a bare minimum of surface noise. The gatefold record sleeve looks brand new. I don't grade a vinyl record album mint if the shrink wrap has been removed. On the outer record sleeve there is a small ding which could have happened to a mint record , on the spine and tiny whiny dings on three of the four corners , otherwise you're looking at a mint record cover! This LP is a well conceived concept album visually as well as musically that was far ahead of its time.

The orchestra conducted by Pete King is the perfect Setting for Julie London's lush vocal stylings. There are some pleasant male voices moving in and out with the seasons and the band itself is split into three or four different combinations . The arrangements by Pete King are simply as good as it gets à la Lennon and McCartney! This record was made in 1957 and has been stored very carefully by the previous owner.

"Julie is her name", was Julie London's first LP. Barney Kessel played guitar on this record. Barney Kessel is rated by critics as one of the top 12 greatest jazz guitarist of all time! Kessels

playing has never been better as evidenced by his sensitive and eloquent lines and chords backing the vocals of Julie London. This Very hard to get LP was only recently purchased at a clean estate sale. Vinyl was play tested and plays through without any issues. There is a slight amount of surface noise and short crackling , scratches and scuffing but nothing to distract me from thoroughly enjoying this LP ! The Record Sleeve has some issues but they are easily repairable as both the top spine of the record album sleeve and the bottom need to be re-glued. I use two-sided tape and will attempt to fix it but should it come off at some point in time I want to be entirely transparent. The inlay is a white inner sleeve in EX+ condition . Julie London is among my favorite female singers in Jazz and Pop history! I have a 2nd copy or I would not sell this amazing LP Please see photos.
