1987 Greco SPF-55 Device with Spirit Energy.

When I bought this guitar I was told it was a Greco neck on a Fender Contemporary body made in Japan.

I had no real reason to believe it wasn’t a genuine Fender Contemporary body because of the shape and amenities of the guitar, specially the Fender adjustable bridge.

When I got it in I disassembled the guitar to find the neck and body have the same model number stamped on them, so that threw me off.

After some research, I believe this guitar came from the factory exactly like it is. Both Greco and Fender were made in the same factories in the 1980’s.

The strings are brand new D’Addario.09-.42.

One of the locking nuts and screw is missing on the locking mechanism behind the nut. The tremolo arm is also not included. The body has a few very small indentations.

I’m selling it as a Greco SPF-55 although the body doesn’t match the shape of a SPF-55. The body looks identical to a 1987 Fender Contemporary.

Maybe you know more about this than me, maybe it has been altered and maybe it was built this way.

The electronics appear original, and have never been tampered with. See pics.

The guitar will be professionally packaged and shipped with insurance.

It will need to be tuned and setup to your specifications upon receiving. No partial refunds will be given for tuning or setup work, as it is normal.
