Item Description  

Here is a great Antique Map of the Railroad System in Virginia and West Virginia in 1875 for your buying consideration.  Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself! 

This map will not last long.  Don’t wait too long and then regret not getting this great map for your needs. 

The map was originally done in 1875.  Map is out of some sort of atlas or map book as the original fold for 2 pages can be seen down the middle of the map.  Other states and the page numbers they are on are noted at the top of the pages.  Great coloring and details to the maps and the rail lines.  Cities noted along the border of the map, with their map location.  Most are covered.  The rail line legend is clearly shown in the map to trace the various rail lines thru these two states.

This fine antique map is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a fine gallery or auction house.  We can do that by being a dealer in artwork for over 40 years, better controlling our acquisition costs, keeping commission costs low (if applicable).  Finally, we don't have the overhead that fine galleries or auction houses have.

The map has not been examined out of the frame.  The map has folds that are visible in it running from top to bottom.  These appear to be the original fold lines from our research.  Some minor tears and loss of paper along the edges that we can ascertain.   Some spotting in a few places.  No watermark damage.  Some minor browning and spotting to the paper.  

No certificate of authenticity comes with this piece.  You be the judge as to whether this piece is original or not before acquiring.  You or your agent are certainly welcome to stop by to see the map in person as well.

The map comes in an older wood frame that the wood graining can be seen in.  The glass over the map is intact, no cracks or blistering.  The map has not been examined out of the frame.  

The Framed Antique 1875 Railroad Map in frame is 20.5" tall, by 26-3/8" across, by 7/8" wide.  The map showing within the matting is 17.75" tall by 23.5" across.  Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.  Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

Payment Policy

• Per Ebay policy.  No personal checks. 
• Immediate payment is required for items where the full listing price is paid.
• When a best offer price is accepted, the sooner payment is made, the sooner your item will be shipped.
• Once full payment is received, your item will be shipped on the same or next business day (depending on the time of day the purchase is made).  For example, an item paid for on Tuesday will be shipped no later than end of day Wednesday.  An item paid for on Friday will be shipped no later than end of day Monday. 
• U.S. Federal holidays will impact shipping dates.

Shipping Policy

• Shipping is available to:
• 48 contiguous U.S. states and Canada.
• Select countries (disclosed in individual item description).
• PayPal confirmed addresses only.
• No APO/FPO delivery.
• Items will be shipped via USPS or UPS Ground, based on the buyer's preference.
• Shipped on the same or next business day following receipt of full payment.
• UPS/USPS tracking number will be provided.
• Shipping includes the cost of insurance, where applicable.
• Special shipping requests can be communicated and agreed upon at the time of sale.
• A separate handling charge may apply to certain items that require additional packaging in order to ensure safe shipping.  Please refer to the individual listings to see if a handling charge applies.

If an item is shipped to a country outside of the United States, the buyer is responsible for any brokerage, tariffs, taxes, customs, or other charges imposed by that country.  The seller reserves the right to choose the international  shipping carrier based on shipping method selected at the time of payment.  The seller will not understate the value of any item on customs forms.

 

If you purchase or win more than one auction in which the items can safely be shipped together, we will send you a combined invoice.

We take great pride in is our wrapping to ensure that your order is safely shipped to you.  You might find our shipping costs higher than other sellers, but it is due to the extra time, packing care, and materials we utilize.  Of over 900 packages shipped last year, we had only two items with issues, a 99.8% damage free delivery rate.   Keep in mind, we are not shipping soft goods, like shirts or pants.   We are shipping vintage/antique items that are fragile and require special care.

We also obtain insurance on any item that was bought for $50 or more, and require signature on delivery for items that are valued at over $200.  Plus we have to pay the 11.75% of the final value and shipping fees that eBay and PayPal charges. 

Forfeiture - Items not picked up or arrangements not made by Buyer to have the item shipped to them within 60 days after payment, or during the layaway payment process, will be forfeited by Buyer to Seller.  Seller then has the right to resell the item again, with no refund of purchase price or sales tax to previous Buyer. 

Returns Policy

• Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of item where an item is not as described.  The Buyer will be assessed a 15% restocking fee of the Item and Shipping Cost should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason. 
  
• Please note that a restocking fee is charged to to cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping. 
  
• In accordance with eBay's Buyer Protection Program, the purchase price plus original shipping cost will be refunded to the buyer once the item has been received by the seller, minus the 15% restocking fee noted.
• Buyer would pay for the return shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost (item is the buyer's financial responsibility until the item is safely returned to the seller by shipper).

• All items are as described, with any item history, known defects or imperfections disclosed in each listing.
• Item description and pictures should be carefully reviewed prior to purchase.
