Ashoka Flower
State Flower- Ashoka Flower: The state flower of the state of Odisha is the Ashoka flower. It Is the flower from the tree of Ashoka, and that's how this flower got its name. These flowers appear in heavy bunches which look very beautiful. It is also known by the name Saraca Asoka.
The Indian Roller (Bird)
The Indian roller is the state bird of the Indian states of Odisha, Telangana, and Karnataka. At the height of the plume trade in the early 20th century, the Indian roller was sought for export of its colourful feathers, and was among the most widely killed bird species in India.
Ashwathha (Tree)
State tree- Ashwathha or peepal tree: One of the most famous trees of the Indian culture, the peepal tree is the state tree of the state of Odisha.
Mahasheer (Fish)
In India there are 2,500 species of fishes out of which 2,358 are indigenous varieties and 291 are exotic types and the rest are marine types. Increase in river and environmental pollution has led to many species of fishes facing the threat of extinction. In an effort to conserve the fishes we have started sensitising people, institutions and non-government organisations. Seventeen states have volunteered to name the important fishes of their regions as the state fish. Odisha has named mahasheer, which is an important fish that has its origin in the Himalayan region.
Sambar Deer (Animal)
The sambar deer is the state animal of Odisha. These deer are dark or light brown and have a slightly yellowish or greyish tinge. Sambar deer are known for their coat and antlers that are rugged.
