Renowned Dr. Joel Filartiga (Anthony Hopkins), runs a free health clinic in strife-torn Paraguay with his wife Nidia (Norma Aleandro). Under the brutal dictatorship of General Stroessner, kidnapping, torture and murder are common, and Filartiga is an outspoken critic of the government, speaking openly despite death threats to himself - until his son is mysteriously murdered. It doesn't take Filartiga long to discover his son was the victim of brutal torture by the police and enraged, he attacks the government through the law courts with the help of criminal lawyer Perrone (Ruben Blades). They are blocked at every turn as the law is twisted by the authorities until it breaks, and Filartiga's struggle for justice becomes more than one man's fight against the government. This is one man's war.

VHS is sealed, in good condition and from a smoke-free home. VHS cassette is assumed complete and free of mold or issues. Case is a sealed slipcover in good condition, with the HBO Watermark seen on the side edge (as pictured). Due to storage, signs of minor wear may be visible. VHS is sealed, therefore untested.
