ABOUT US

Before I tell you about this wonderful telephone just a quick note about ourselves...

We have been buying/restoring/selling and collecting all manner of Antique Vintage Telephones for well over 20 years now, this being my husbands part of the business ~ DEJA VU ANTIQUES you may have seen our advert in Period Living Magazine from which we have run a successful telephone mail order business from their first issue back in 1990..... which really began as an extension of our Antiques Shop and as our own personal collection of antique telephones grew far too large !!

We have a large portfolio of happy customers to include many celebrities including a Spice Girl (who will remain un-named...) historic hotel renovations, supply the BBC, ITV, major theatre groups and have just supplied the Bletchley Park War Museum with all its telephones

THE RESTORATION

All restoration work is done by ourselves in our onsite workshop and has been for the past 20 years.... each one being completely stripped down and renovated part by part then put back together and lovingly restored back to its former glory, converted for modern day usage and finished with a visit to our onsite polishing-shop where the grime of decades is removed and the bakelite brought back to the condition it would have been when originally installed into someones home all those years ago !!!

The old microphones are very carefully checked and if found to be still in fine working order are left insitu as there is no need to change, if however they are found to be faulty they are replaced with a modern microphone

All come complete with modern BT plug with black lead to enable you to plug in and away you go...... we have a house full of these old telephones which are used on a daily basis and no telephone leaves here if it is not in a condition I would be happy to have in my own home....so please do buy with confidence !! 

NOW ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR TELEPHONE 

MODEL ~  A GPO BAKELITE TELEPHONE FROM THE 1940/50s ERA

THIS IS A TOP SPEC MINT CONDITION TELEPHONE WITH GLEAMING BAKELITE WHICH HAS BEEN LOVINGLY RESTORED

HANDSET ~ having mint condition braided handset cord

DIAL ~ original chrome alpha-numerical dial ie numbers in red and letters in black harking back to the days pre dialling codes when for example Bromsgrove would have been BR 3, no longer used today ofcourse but a nice vintage touch

BASE ~  with nice condition rubber feet

Prior to our " throw away " society these wonderful old telephones were repaired and refurbished and put into someone elses home ~ a lesson in recycling we could do with taking heed of today.

Whilst it is one of the plainer versions of the 300 series ie without the call exchange plaque or drawer it is one of my favourite shapes being so clean cut and as such would fit with any interior scheme be it a period setting, barn conversion, retro or even a more contemporary modern setting ... a great all round model !! 

Has double bells and that great old dixon of dock green ring !!

THE CONDITION OF THIS TELEPHONE IS MINT HAVING BEEN RESTORED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD WITH GLEAMING BAKELITE....

We can provide a very good quality reproduction dial label with your own telephone number printed on at no extra charge !!  

Dont forget ofcourse that this telephone will still work in the event of a power cut which modern phones will not as they need to be plugged in so great to use in rural areas like ours when you can guarantee a few power cuts during the year !!

All items are extremely well packed in recycled materials where possible.

Most items are quoted for 1st class delivery but if you have any particular delivery requirements such as special delivery/recorded delivery etc please request at time of purchase as this must be charged as an extra
