This is a one of a kind vintage  solid copper and turquoise piece from the legendary Bell Trading Post .  Each unique piece was handmade by Native Americans for the Bell Trading Company from the 1950s to the 1970s along the famous Route 66  to be sold in souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels along the way.  Turquoise found in Southwestern copper mines was stabilized, creating a sturdier substance for fashioning this unique hand made jewelry. Molten copper was then used to create individual bezels around each stone  against a darker deeply t4extured  surface which some refer to as brutalist.  This is a serious Estate collectible because of the short period of production of this "Corinthian" line from the early 1970s named after certain styles of decorative art  reminiscent of ancient Greece.  The pendant is 2 inches in diameter and the solid copper chain attached is 23 inches long.  The complete piece  weighs a sturdy 65 grams and the vintage condition is excellent.
