On offer is this rare vintage Coty Flying Colours triple vanity case dating circa 1940. This case measures 10 cm at the widest points and is 6.3 cm in height. The case is made of gold tone metal with linear machine turned pattern to the base with central cartouche marked Coty. The compact has figural, three dimensional wing design to the lid with enamel color bands on the centre lipstick tube. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective half moon shaped mirror under the lid. In the base are two compartments. To the left is a circular open rouge compartment with the Coty marked puff. Beside this is a hinged door for the loose powder well. This has traces of loose powder and the Coty marked puff. On the lid, the lipstick tube slides out and contains red lipstick.
This sought after and highly collectable, rare Coty powder compact is offered in good condition with untarnished, clean gold tone metal. The case has no dents or dings. The interior is clean and the mirror is good. There are a couple of pin prick losses to the white enamel banding of the lipstick holder on the lid. No other faults are found.
