Made in the USA in the early 1970's (upon my research, it was 1970), this is the short-lived revised model of the J-50 with the dreadnought shape that stepped away from the J-45 style design. Spruce top with mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, it weighs just under 2kg's. 43mm nut width. It plays very comfortably with a slim 60's style neck profile. It also still wears all the original Gibson Deluxe hardware and I have had a LR Baggs M1 pickup installed, so as not to drill any holes in the body that one may come to regret!

I installed some bonite pins (with mother of pearl inlays), but I will provide the original ones as well. It will also come with a vintage Gibson case, but I don’t believe it is the original one, as the dates do not tally up. It is vintage nonetheless.

This is a players grade guitar that plays and sounds like a dream. There has been a professional repair carried out to the side (shown in photos). I believe that this was carried out by Wunjo’s Guitars in Denmark Street, back when I bought this about 15 years ago. This does not degrade the sound or performance of this in any way. Frets are in great condition and the truss is adjustable, plays well with a nice straight neck. Has an incredibly loud and clear tone to it and is perfect for someone looking for something that is a premium all-rounder.

Happy bidding!
