These Korean cabinets have been in the family for over 25 years, they are original pieces and not reproductions; they were purchased from a private Korean seller who had been in the diplomatic service.
They have been well loved and looked after and each has a condition and patina that shows its age. There is some light rubbing to the forward edge of one cabinet - otherwise they are in excellent condition (no large bumps, dings, chips, or scratches).
They are of a mahogany/brown colour with some very good and typical Korean metal work, hasps and hinges. There is a hinge line about 2/3 way from the bottom which allows the top section to drop down through release of the key. The cabinets are lined with paper decorated with oriental script. Each cabinet has two small removeable drawers 29 (w) x 23(l) x 5(d).
Each cabinet measures 68 (w) X 35 (l) X 52.5 (h) cm, the Drop-Down segment is 26 cm (h).
