You're looking at a beautiful silver plated brass trumpet made by Pan American in Elkhart Indiana in around 1929.

I acquired this from a relative who found it cleaning out their crawl space. It appears to have been cleaned since there is tarnish on the music stand but most of the trumpet is shining.

I don't know much about these instruments, but having learned trombone many years ago, I was able to create a tune that changed with each press of the buttons, so I believe the instrument is working as intended.

Included with the trumpet is a case, cover, mouthpiece, music stand and some music books. A small button is missing that appears to have come unsoldered from one of the pipes. I suspect there was supposed to be a screw to keep the music stand in place but that is missing as well.

See for yourself in the pictures that this is a very lightly used instrument. I have tried to take pictures of any damage, mainly there are a few small dents and minor wear. Some tarnished spots as well that are hard to see but likely will clean easily.

Judging by the name written on the stand music and books, I suspect it was a students instrument. I think the writing will come off the stand, it isn't etched. The case is also in good condition for it's age. The music included is falling apart a bit, as expected for 100 years!

The valves have serial numbers matching the instrument and return to the top when pressed, perhaps slower than they should but I do not know what it should work like.

The slide moves easily and I was able to remove it fully, adjustment hardware looks to be complete.
