This is an ABS Control Module heat shield designed for the following 6 cylinder BMW E39 models:

525i (2000-2003)

530i (2001-2003)

The ABS Control Module on the E39 is located adjacent to the engine's exhaust manifold which subjects the module to extreme heat. Over time, this heat causes the solder joints in the module's circuit board to fail, rendering the unit inoperable. This heat shield greatly reduces the heat that reaches the ABS Control Module (so much so that the module remains cool to the touch after spirited driving!). The result is a long-lasting ABS Control Module.

There are a few of these shields available on the market, but here are some reasons why this shield is much improved on the other available designs:

• The ABS Control Module is completely isolated from the heat shield. Many shields available mount directly to the ABS Control Module body, which negates the heat deflecting purpose of the heat shield.
• The heat shield extends down past the exhaust headers so that heat from the headers cannot get behind the shield and reach the ABS Control Module from the bottom.
• The rugged and simplistic design blends in well with the rest of the engine bay.
• The heat shield is mounted through existing threaded fasteners in the engine bay.

All mounting hardware is included with the heat shield.

This heat shield has been designed and tested specifically for the E39 525i & 530i. While the engine bay for the 528i & 540i E39 variants are similar, this heat shield has not been tested with those models. Small modifications may allow for this shield to fit the 528i & 540i E39, but no guarantees are expressed or implied. Please make your purchase decision accordingly.

The heat shields are made by hand and made to order. Please allow 3-5 business days for them to be manufactured and shipped out.

NOTE: The finished product may have minor/light scratches in the aluminum that are unnoticeable once installed. Unfortunately, these defects are unavoidable. They are the result of the bulk material handling & processing at the aluminum supplier.
