Here's a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS, 99,270 miles as of today, runs like new. Everything works on it as far as I know, no mechanical issues as far as I know.

I bought this car last summer, 2023.. I tried to get it shipped, had hired a shipper, who quit communicating with me (I don't think they could honor their quote). So I went and got it, it was in the mountains of Tennesee, 650 miles away from me here in Kansas. It made the trip just fine, no problems. The guy that sold it to me was very honest, told me it had a big dent in the passengers front fender, and some chips in the paint on the hood, and here and there. The previous owner told me it had recently been backed into on a parking lot, didn't take a hard impact, so no real structural damage to worry about, just the fender was dented pretty good.

I took the car to a body shop, they gave me two options, either spend over $2000 dollars replacing and repainting the fender and touching up the paint chips. or the guy said he could pound out MOST of the dent for about $50. So I chose the $50 option. It doesn't look perfect, but it's WAY better than it was, not as noticeable from a distance as it was.Be aware, this isn't a show car. People aren't going to ask you to pull over at stoplights so they can get out and admire what a beauty this is. What it IS is a very sound running, dependable car. If you're looking for something to enter in car shows, this ain't it. If you're looking for a car to get you to where you're going, please strongly consider this one.

I like it, I'm not sorry I bought it, but it's not quite what I was hoping for. It's the smaller Sonata, I thought it was the bigger one that got around 34-35 mpg. It is the smaller one that gets about 26-27 mpg because it has a 6 cylinder in it. So it's a little peppier than the 4 cylinder, but not quite as fuel efficient. I have two other vehicles, decided to get rid of one, so I chose this one. I would keep it otherwise.

It had two issues when I first got it (besides the dent, I mean). The front end was very squeaky when you'd hit a bump. I figured it was the struts, so I bought new front struts and had them installed at great expense. That really didn't help, so we dug a little deeper, and replaced the upper control arms on the front with new Moog parts, that solved the vast majority of the problem, still squeaks just a little, not much though. It also had a four wheel alignment done on it when the control arms were replaced. I also had new front brake pads. Put on, and had the rotors turned.

The other issue is that it has a vibration that feels like it's coming from the front between 60-75 mph. I had the tires rebalanced SEVERAL times, didn't help, I believe one of the tires is a little out of round, and I noticed today that the tires are beginning (just beginning) to get cracks in the sidewalls, they were made in early 2018.. Still has decent tread left on the tires, so I didn't replace them (and won't, now that I'm selling it). I don't believe this will cause any problem, the vibration is just a little bothersome at that speed, but nothing terrible.

It is structurally in used condition. As I said before, it has a previously badly dented front passenger side fender that is improved / paratially fixed fixed now, but it's not 100% perfect. There are some paint chips in the hood, and a few others here and there, including a decent sized one in the lower part of the front bumper. It looks like a hole in the picture that shows it, it isn't a hole, it's just a moderate paint chip.

It also looks like the previous owner might have taken out some rust spots in the bottom of both rear door rocker panels, and welded in two new pieces of metal on each side. I don't see any evidence of any rust anywhere now.

All the accessories work, though the radio isn't a real high fidelity sound monster. AC works, sunroof, cruise, power windows.  Has heated seats, I really only used them once, they worked fine. There's a setting on the headlight switch for automatic headlights.

Pretty basic car, dependable, comfortable, decent on gas, starts and runs. Gets you where you're going. Again, you won't be the envy of the neighborhood with this parked in your driveway, but it will get you where you're going, it's got a lot of life left in it, and it won't require a 2nd mortgage to buy it. I personally care more about how a car runs then how it looks, as long as it's not an eyesore, and this one isn't, but it does have a few cosmetic flaws, MOSTLY minor, other than the passenger fender, and it's not all THAT bad.

I have it priced at what I believe is private party value for it's condition. If it doesn't sell, I'll gladly keep it.
