French German Antique Agate Box Restauration
I have owned a lot of these boxes, over the years. I have always understood them to be French from the early 19th century. The quality and condition of the ones I have owned varied quite a lot. We usually try to offer the cheapest on the market, but this one is one of the nicest, in quality and condition that I have owned. While checking the market we found one using Google search where someone says these boxes are German from (Idar-Oberstein), the area referred to as the valley of agate. In any case it is a very nice one in excellent condition. It is 3 3/16 inches long not including the feet x 1 3/4” and 1 3/4” tall Or 8.1 cm x 4.5 cm x 4.5 cm
