In this listing we have a really cute Ken swimsuit that was released by Mattel. This outfit includes a pair of longer board shorts with a really neat striped pattern that has streaks of blue, yellow, pink, black and white, a pair of light blue plastic sandals, and a light blue plastic water bottle, because it’s important to stay hydrated, even if you yourself is plastic! This outfit was not released together, but all pieces are genuine Mattel products. The shorts are designed for the “Original” Ken bodies, but the shoes will fit all current Ken feet. The water bottle has a small loop for a doll to hold it, but it’s too small for Ken, and might be best used for Barbie. There is a peg in the bottom of the water bottle that will allow it to be used with the current Barbie playsets. My pictures came out a little over-saturated, the colors are more muted in person.

This outfit is in decent shape. The shorts have been played with, but the shoes and water bottle have not. The shorts are in fair shape. I will start off pointing out that the material used for them is very sheer and a bit see through. When they are flat you can see the other side of the fabric through them, especially the white parts. It might be possible to see a fair amount of the doll’s skin tone and joints through the fabric when on a doll. These would not be very modest if Ken was a real person. They are also a bit wrinkled. On the right side in the front about an inch above the bottom hem on the far right there’s a small printing flaw on the fabric. On the blue section there’s a small half moon shaped section where the fabric is a yellow-orange color. It’s very small, but you can certainly see it. At the bottom front of the left pant leg there is a small section of the inside hem that came out from the hem and the unfinished hem is visible from the front. I’m not sure if there’s a way to fix it. There is some fraying to the fabric on the inside of both pant legs so I would be careful so that more spots don’t come out from the hem. On the pants in the front and back there’s some small stains and some areas where it looks like the color was slightly lightened in spots. It’s hard to see, but you can certainly see it. This is more obvious in person. There are some excess threads in the back where the Velcro is sewn on. There are also some excess threads from the side seams at the pant legs. The shoes look good. They do have seam lined and mold injection spots, but they will all have that. The seam line going down the front of the shoe is pretty obvious. When you look up close at the shoes there are some minor molding imperfections, but they are pretty small. The water bottle looks good. It also has seam lines and mold injection spots. They are pretty minor, but you can see them. Please examine all pictures to see the exact condition of this outfit and please keep in mind some issues are more visible in person compared to pictures.
