1967 Chevrolet C10 Pickup

Here at Classic Auto Mall on consignment is this mildly modified Chevrolet C10 pickup from 1967.  Repainted and the beneficiary of a restoration, this truck has endured its years with minimal rust and is a looker and a cooker.  Now with a reworked late model V8, overdrive transmission, heat and AC, lots of mechanical repairs and upgrades and an interior update are just a few of the tasks performed on this custom.  Truly unique, truly cool, and quite the runner, all buttoned up and ready for the big dance, and to put a smile on a new owner's face.

Exterior
Starting up front we are met with the new for '67 rectangular C10 front end with outboard round LED headlights and split grille assembly with integral parking lenses in the lower section and a shiny like new bumper below.   Yes, the body is all red, clean, and shaved of any badging that may have existed but retaining the lower beltline wide stainless trimming that curves around both front and rear wheel wells and highlights the slab sided sea of red.  Just a few inclusions and touchup for the straight steel panels are seen along with a few small bubbles in the bottom of the drivers door.  All good though with nice gaps, black and stainless trimmings for tinted window surrounds and a simple chrome mirror hanging from each of the doors.  The rear cargo area is looking good with a pneumatic strut assisted hard shell cover and within is a black carpeted mat to protect the red steel bed floor.  The rear bumper hangs below and the original tail lights  are flanking either side of the tailgate.  Polished lip old skool kewl 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in staggered width Cooper Cobra GT black walls finish out the package nicely.

Interior
Nice door panels in black and light gray broadcloth with a red piping delineator and painted red metal with shiny chrome door actuators and window cranks pave the way for your entry into the cab.  Here you'll find the traditional long bench seat replaced with bucket seats dressed in a similar pattern to the mid 1980's Mustang GT's with smooth light gray broadcloth bolsters and black tuck and roll inserts with more of that sexy red piping.  These present in very nice shape with only normal age wear from careful use.   The original dash has been retained and within the crinkle finish black bezel cluster we see the full gamut of white face gauges courtesy of Classic Industries.  We note an aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo in the center of the dash along with the climate control slides and red padded dash top adds some pop to the interior upfront, as does the 3 spoke steering wheel in black and chrome.   New black carpet floods the floors and the headliner is all metal and red, and as we move to the back of the cab, a rounded tinted glass window lets you see out back and check on the cargo when the tonneau is removed.

Drivetrain
A 350ci V8 is now installed and is fed by a single 4-barrel carburetor through an aluminum intake manifold.  An automatic overdrive 700R4-speed is on the back and a completely rebuilt 12-bolt rear with 3.73 gears is the rear axle setup.  Looking good under this hood with supple hoses and clean concise wiring.

Undercarriage
From the engine we see headers feeding clean piping to like new stainless steel exhaust.  Independent coil springs for front and trailing arm with coil springs on the back.  Power front disc brakes work with power rear drums to bring things to a safe and secure halt.  Some slight surface rust on the usual suspects underneath, but well cared for and structurally sound with black and gray steel.

Drive-Ability
It took to the test track like a fish in water, where it showed good acceleration from the 350ci and 4bbl, smooth braking, tight handling, and even a smooth ride at a cruising speed.  All fine for the test drive.

Some snazzy and much welcomed modifications for this truck, a little removal of the chrome looks nice with the theme, and some black accenting does it solid.  The interior is great, late model seats, weather stripping, glass, all in the comfort of heat and AC, and we are ready to go haul...some ass!
