1920’s Or 30’s Cremona Albert Shutt Design Harmony Mandolin + Fitted Grieb Case, rare mandolin designed by the builder who rivalled gibson and licensed to harmony, there is a bit of debate as to wether these are carved tops or pressed tops, the general consensus as I read it is that the earlier ones (like this one) tend to be carved and the post war ones pressed but I may be wrong about that! That being said this mandolin is a belter and compares volume wise to my pre war gibsons! Has had some historic repairs and a great “road worn” patina, a great all round player, currently fitted with thomastik infeld flatwound strings, (they could probably do with renewing! please study the photographs carefully as they form a part of the description and feel free to contact me for more information, measurements or photographs! check out my other listings for more great antiques and musical instruments!
