The order slips are for materials such as bricks to be delivered to a B&O Rail Yard from Thos W. Smith Lumber Dealer in Washington D.C. The slips also have print lettering that read "THOS W. SMITH / Lumber Dealer, / And Furnisher of Mill-Worked or Hand Finished: Inside Finish in Pine, Poplar, Ash, Cherry Red Wood, Oak, Cypress, &c. / Stair Builders/ Materials in Wood a specialty." There is handwriting that reads "Mrs Windsor Ford / Please deliver to B&O RR. Depot for One 2000 Red Brick" it is dated 3/15/1886 and signed by Thos W. Smith. The reverse side of the slip has a chart for how much wood or material would be needed for certain projects. Each slip is different.
