About Billy Crystal
William Edward Crystal, born on March 14, 1948, is a renowned American comedian, actor, and filmmaker celebrated for his standup comedy, as well as his film and stage roles. Over the years, Crystal has been honored with six Primetime Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, and nominations for three Grammy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. His contributions to entertainment were recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1991, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2007, the Critics' Choice Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2023.

Crystal first gained widespread attention for his television role as Jodie Dallas on the ABC sitcom "Soap" from 1977 to 1981 and as a cast member and frequent host of "Saturday Night Live" from 1984 to 1985. He is also known for his roles in films such as "Running Scared" (1986), "Throw Momma from the Train" (1987), "When Harry Met Sally..." (1989), and as the voice of Mike Wazowski in the Pixar "Monsters, Inc." franchise. Crystal has hosted the Academy Awards nine times, a testament to his enduring appeal and versatility as a performer.

In addition to his screen accomplishments, Crystal made his Broadway debut with his one-man show "700 Sundays" in 2004, earning a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event. He returned to Broadway in 2014 and again in 2022 with "Mr. Saturday Night," a musical based on his film, receiving Tony nominations for Best Actor in a Musical and Best Book of a Musical. Crystal is also an author, having written five books including the memoir "Still Foolin' Em" (2013)
