Rare! New Old Stock Universal Model 175 Bicycle Brake Set. Anodized red. These brakes have the classic style brake levers where the brake cable comes out the top of the brake hood. This style has two great functional aspects. 1. The cables are very easy to change. 2. The cable can help prevent your hand from flying off the brake hood when you hit a large bump in the road unexpectedly. The bolts to mount the brakes to the frame are long and go completely thru the fork crown or the brake bridge. They are secured to the frame with conventional nuts. They are long reach calipers. I would estimate the range of movement of the brake pad to be between 60mm and 78mm. Measuring from the center of the brake mounting hole to the center of the brake pad. I think they were made in the 1980's. Some of the metal parts are discolored. They are 40+ years old. The box is in poor condition. I have included 2 nyloc nuts, 2 washers, and 2 brake bridge spacers for a round brake bridge. See the last photo.
