This is  a  brilliant : Original Modernist Oil Painting by the enigmatic Caroline Burnett (Please see my other auctions for the remainder.)This work is signed 

This c1950 Modernist original painting which is Oil on Canvas measures 10" X 12"and is in excellent condition with lovely vibrant colours. It is framed in a period  measuring 12" X 14". 

The artist has an international reputation.She has exhibited widely and her paintings have sold for four figures.

"Caroline Burnett is reputed to be an American who lived and painted in Paris. She was a painter born in the United States, she went to Paris in the early part of her career, which was late 19th and early 20th century. She was a member of the Societe des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibited with the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1898. She was inspired by the scenes surrounding her. Caroline Burnett's painting uses oil as medium. She signs her BURNETT signature on the bottom right side of her paintings, She also uses a number of other pseudonyms such as this one(J Gaston), or sometimes her works are unsigned .".
