Jamaican Hot Chocolate Habanero Dried Pepper Pods
Jamaican Hot Chocolate Pepper - (Capsicum chinese) is a shiny brown habanero pepper heirloom variety from Jamaica. This pepper has an more earthy slightly smoky flavor and packs a punch with a HOT level of heat (Scoville: 125,000 - 275,000) slightly hotter than your traditional habanero pepper.
The pods are big, brown and beautiful but don't let that Chocolate color fool you...these peppers are HOT!...and best used as an accent to your dishes. They make great hot sauces, or use them in your Jerk marinades, your salsas, in chilli or as a dry seasoning. These peppers are organically grown in the USA on our Georgia farm.
To rehydrate: Place pods in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Let steep for 15 minutes.
