Condition: Hardbound in quarter leather over marbled boards. Small paper label on spine. Otherwise, clean, crisp, tightly bound, and unmarked throughout. Overall VG+ with noted flaws.

Information: An informative and unusual old compilation of popular astronomy articles from Germany, in German, with some seldom-seen illustrations.  Includes articles on the observation of Mars at a recent opposition, including photos and drawings by Antoniadi, by Slipher at Lowell Observatory, and from the observatory at Juvisy (Flammarion's observatory); There is a series of photos of Halley's comet on approach and an astrophoto by James Keeler of the Dumbbell nebula taken at Mt. Wilson. Other articles deal with the possibility of life beyond the earth. The nature of Variable stars; Observations of Jupiter; Observations of Comet Morehouse 1908c; Spectra of the planets; The motions of the stars; Rotation of planets; new 60 inch reflector at Mt. Wilson; Star clusters, etc. etc..
