Provenance: the Haddenham collection of English coins, 13 December 2023, Spink

Spink identified it as 1849/8. Or could it be 9 over a bigger 9?

The Spink photo (last photo) really does not do it justice. Photo over exaggerates various blemishes - including what appears to be a scratch from the V of Victoria to under her chin - but in reality (thankfully) there is no scratch there.

It is a really choice, fully lustrous and attractive coin. Luster cartwheels and beautifully textured fields.
