These are the original handles and still in very good condition. The stamps date them from between 1870-1890.

The tangs are also in good condition especially bearing in mind the age , show no rust or pitting and have good age related patina . Rare to find 3 v - gouges in tools of this age as they are normally plagued by rust in the flutes , there is one small , one fine and one ultra fine and also an ultra fine u shaped gouge .

There is some mild pitting to the reverse of the largest gouge but this I am sure is foundry casting related and not deteriorative .
