The Egyptian onion, also called the tree onion or the walking onion, is a rare and ancient vegetable. 

Its origins are not known precisely: the name "Egyptian" is very mysterious. The ancient Egyptians worshiped onions and believed that the spherical shape and concentric rings symbolized eternal life. They were even present in the tombs of the pharaohs. However, it is not known for certain whether this variety derives from the Egyptian civilization. 

The seeds  they are packaged in transparent bags.
