WELCOME:

For your consideration: one stunning Solingen Germany "Genuine Stag handle" Hunting Knife & Sheath Set from my personal knife collection, with No Reserve!

This is a must-have vintage collectible Solingen Steel knife that still has the "Original Factory Blade Edge."

The "Mirror-like" fixed blade has a well-preserved gold "Etched" fixed blade image of:   EXTRA  HOLLOW  GROUND  w/ a detailed scroll-work border.

One beautiful Stag/antler-bone handle with secure matching spacers, solid Brass & Aluminum fittings, and fits well in hand for a secure grip.

Included is the Original Solingen Western Germany leather sheath and this Vintage knife combo is in "Exceptional Condition" for being decades old.

From research and the blade stamping, this quality COMPASS German knife set was likely produced in the 1950s - 1960s era.

The knives of Solingen Germany are known world-wide for their quality steel, fine craftsmanship, and attention given to details, and this collectible knife is no exception!

Remember “Back in the day” these older knives were mostly purchased to be used…Not collected, making a knife in "Outstanding vintage condition" difficult to find.

HISTORY:   This early Solingen Germany fixed blade knife was likely manufactured in Post WWII Germany in the late 1950's - 1960's

We know: 1945 after WW II, Germany was divided into two sectors...the East and West, so many products were stamped West or Western Germany to show the difference between the Democratic made products and the Communist made products.

This vintage COMPASS knife includes the matching COMPASS Leather Sheath that is trademarked stamped:  SOLINGEN  WESTERN  GERMANY

.

SIZE:

The overall size measures :     7  3/4" in.

The fixed blade is almost:     4" in.

HANDLE:

One easy-to-grip Genuine Stag / antler-bone handle with beautiful dark grooves and natural "gnarly bone" raised patternsThis real stag/bone handle displays rich & varied color tones, nice light signs of natural aging, and is in Exceptionally Good Condition, especially for the age.

The secure, matching composite spacers are tight, well-preserved, and truly compliment the overall handle tones of this collectible early piece.

This stag handle feels heavy for the size and the shiny Aluminum pommel is solidly secured with a 3/8" brass tang nut, so there is No movementThe curved, Brass finger guard assists with a secure grip and measures approx.  2" inches long. These bright vintage fittings are all tight and in Great shape for their age.

This beautiful early COMPASS  SOLINGEN  GERMANY small-game hunting / skinning knife has No looseness.

BLADE:

Even though its decades old, this stunning, hand-crafted German knife is in Exceptionally Good Condition, and still retains the "Original Factory Blade Edge!"

The sharp, clip-point blade is full, the Solingen steel is "Mirror-like" and the blade spine is thick especially near the Brass guard.  There are No blade edge nicks, and the tip is pointed.

This early hunting knife has a well-preserved gold "Etched" fixed blade image of:   EXTRA  HOLLOW  GROUND  w/ a detailed scroll-work border.

There is also a false top blade edge (or swedge) that measures 1  5/8" long and could be sharpened if desired.  I'll leave any decision to sharpen the fixed blade up to the new owner.

The reflective hunting/skinning blade has some light surface rubs/ or faint thin scratches (possibly some from taking it in and out of the sheath.) There are a few mild slight blade shading signs which are consistent for the age, or some faint expected tiny (micro-size) hard-to-see age specks...that I had to use my magnifying glass to view.
