The Anton Schlotmann forwarding company in Sauerland is a very special logistics company. Allen Despite changes and the unbridled economic thinking in the industry, the company founded in Werdohl in 1902 is sticking to its presentable classic fleet. Half a dozen of these nostalgic trains are in daily use - mostly for moving or transporting furniture. It is not surprising that in the long chronology there is also a typical olive gray VW Beetle 1200 with a white roof and a single-axle trailer towing it. One more reason for WIKING to take on the car combination. WIKING is now converting VW Beetles and single-axle trailers to a scale of 1:87 and would like to delight all those who recently added the Mercedes-Benz LP 1313 furniture box truck from the Sauerland transport company to their WIKING collection. That was even worth a contribution to WDR television! Of course, the color design of the two trailers, which are so unequal in size, fits together perfectly. Gerd Schlotmann and his sister Mechthild have been running the company since 1970, which places particular emphasis on preserving the historic fleet. In addition to the Mercedes-Benz LP 1313, the vehicle inventory also includes a Büssing Burglöwe U5 - also with an Ackermann body.
