The body top is made of Sitka spruce and the side backs are made of American walnut. The use of wood from the U.S. mainland helps to keep shipping costs down and contributes to the low price.

The 4-inch-thick body is slightly thinner than a regular guitar, the unique cutaway ensures playability without losing the Gibson style, and the flat walnut fingerboard and 628mm medium scale neck provide a high level of playability compared to the original Gibson model.
