Dedication plaque says "Presented to WO1 (R.S.M.) E. H. Lequesnne BY 1. Div. Cell 21st S.A.S. Regiment (V)"
I purchased this plaque from a private collection when I was over buying stock in The UK a few months back
I do not have any additional history of this item and I have no knowledge who any of the people named on the plaque were?
But it seems to me anyway to be somewhat "self provenancing"
SIZE = approx. 7" tall by 5.5" wide by 0.75" thick

Modern history of the 21 Special Air Service Regiment (Artists) (Reserve)
The Territorial Army was reformed in 1947 and the unit was reformed as The Artists Rifles, The Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own) with headquarters at Chelsea.
Shortly afterwards it was transferred to the Army Air Corps and was renamed 21st Battalion, Special Air Service Regiment (Artists' Rifles).
The number "21" was chosen to perpetuate the wartime 1st SAS and 2nd SAS.
In 1952 it was renamed as the 21st Special Air Service Regiment (The Artist's Rifles).
Today, the full title of the Regiment is 21 Special Air Service Regiment (Artists) (Reserve).
Current role & structure
On 1 Sept 2014, 21 SAS was placed under the command of 1st Intelligence

The Artists Rifles motif was designed by Wyon the Queen's medallist, consisting of two heads: Mars - God of War, and Minerva - Goddess of Wisdom, was chosen by the newly-formed Artists Rifles to represent war and fine arts.
The badge bore the motto 'Cum Marte Minerva' (Mars with Minerva') which was also the title of the first Regimental March, the words of which were written by an Artist, George Cayley. A regimental rhyme records: *"Mars, he was the God of war, and didn't stop at trifles. Minerva was a bloody whore.*
