K.Yairi Guitars, a renowned domestic manufacturer, was founded in 1965 by the second generation of Mr. Kazuo Yairi, and has been in existence up to the present. At that time, the company offered two series of guitars: the DY series, which was made entirely of veneer, and the YW series, which used plywood for the sides and back.
This YW-600, a popular model in the YW series, is constructed using high-grade spruce veneer on the top and coral rose plywood on the sides and back. It was described in the catalog of the time as having "a unique, rich, deep, and lived-in sound," and many guitar players may have been indebted to this model.
The inlay logo on the head plate, the Avalon hexagon inlay on the fingerboard, the rosette, and the inlay on the binding are also gorgeous and have specifications that can be recognized from a distance. The sound is typical of Yairi!
The instrument is 47 years old, so there are some signs of use (minor, small, and noticeable scratches and dents, chipping of the paint film, paint chipping, etc.), but it can be used without any problems in its current condition. The entire instrument has been inspected at our workshop. The pegs were replaced with new Gotohs when the guitar arrived at our factory, which allows for more accurate tuning.
This instrument is in player's condition, so it is recommended for players who are more interested in playing and do not care about any scratches!
