Banded Creamware Childs Platter Set
Wedgwood Staffordshire England  c1830

This is a very scarce set of miniature childs or doll size creamware tablewares. Originally part of complete miniature dinner services, the set includes a plate measuring 6 inches, 5-1/4 inches, and 3 inches long. All hand decorated with a simple dark brown double banded rim. The largest platter is styled somewhat differently from the other.

The simple creamware set is elegantly understated.  The largest platter is marked Wedgwood and is an uncommon example of a Wedgwood child’s dinner set platter. The other three pieces are unmarked. They may have been made by Wedgwood (who famously marked everything they made) or possibly Hackwood, another pottery manufactory in the Staffordshire district of England at the same time as Wedgwood. Although the set is ‘married’ (ie. mismatched) the pieces work perfectly together.

The set is in great condition, with no chips cracks or repairs. Disolored stilt marks in the center of one platter and plate. An exquisite little set to add to any creamware or miniature childrens collection. Sold as is.
