1956 Chevrolet 210 2-Door Sedan

For consignment, a restored and modded Chevrolet 210 in 2 door form from 1956.  It has been modded to go faster, and indeed its mission accomplished with this example.  A consignor stated 355ci V8, two tone blue and white paint, and a new chrome front bumper, and painted rear to match the color of the body above them front and rear.  Underneath it's a solid car with a new gas tank and sender, traction bars and new power brakes.

Exterior
With the front of the car "simplified", we see an all shaved hood now just painted blue.  Below is a horizontal ribbed grille, and a new chrome bumper below.   All is shiny and brite, and the bumper is sans its rabbit ears, so it is looking much cleaner.  Moving back we see some wraparound glass for the front and rear windows, and the top and trunk as well as the back of the car moves from blue to white.  A spear starting upfront mid headlight slowly dives downward and backward widening, and eventually diving to the rear bumper.  An opposing angled trimming with some faux vents in it, is just behind the doors, and meets up with the diving spear to create the delineation between the blue and white in the rear quarter.   The trunk has also been shaved of any badging, and the rear bumper is now that part of the body matching white.  On the corners of the rear quarters are vertical bezels with a rocket nose tail light and inset reverse lights with these snappy bezels.  Large chromed exhaust tips peek out from underneath the car's white bumper, and 14-inch front and 15-inch Cragar chrome 5 spoke wheels are wrapped by older blackwall rubber.

Interior
Inside is my favorite Tri-5 dash with the dual eyebrow design, use of lots of chrome and well appointed for the wrap around to match the doors.  This dash is mostly original with the black face semicircular speedo and small lights with it to indicate a turn signal blinking.  Now a column mounted tachometer has been installed.   Below the all steel black dash topper, is a band of aluminum punched with a repeating bow tie pattern..nifty!  An aftermarket trio of gauges is hanging below the dash and is in black so it's mostly unassuming.  A wood rimmed 3 spoked drilled rally steering wheel fronts this great looking dash and to the driver's right is a B&M T style floor shifter.  It is sitting on a central hump which is covered in nice clean black carpeting.  In front of the passenger is the 2nd eyebrow and it has a fan like design with a Chevrolet badge in your grandmother's handwriting and a clock below in the center of the V it creates.  Loads of tuck and roll for the seats, door panels and even sides in the back are in abundance and all looking in great condition.  The black headliner above is nice and tight and has a punched vented pattern within it.

Drivetrain
Under the hood in a fully restored engine bay, sits a consigner stated 355ci V8.  It sports a Weiand intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on top.  A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission is on back and it works with a 3.36 great pumpkin in the middle of the rear axle.  Headers and a Turbo muffler system is on, along with an open round air cleaner covering, and chromed valve coverings.  A new ignition coil is now in, and the master cylinder looks as new.  A braided fuel line and supple hoses and wires are all over this beautiful mill.

Undercarriage
Starting with the new fuel tank and pickup and sender, and going through the well covered undercarriage with rustproofing, we note no rust in sight, but we do note repairs in the inner rockers.  The floor pans are stamped and straight, as is the overall frame all covered in rust proofing.  Independent coil sprung front suspension is on, and in back some leaf springs with yellow painted traction bars are now installed.  Power drum brakes which are truly new, are installed in all 4 corners.

Drive-Ability
A quick starter, great runner and is able to grab some eyes to look at it while you are on your cruise.  Smooth shifting, good handling and quick stop braking which is bias free was experienced in this test drive.

Slightly modded find for the simplified busy side, and modded on the engine side, along with some traction bars, a new fuel tank and power brakes all around, it's all buttoned up and ready to turn the key and go to impress.  How about impressing your garage?
