THE POLICE “Regatta de Blanc” 1979 1st Santa Maria Press, Excellent All Around!

Really nice 1st press manufactured at the CBS Santa Maria plant. The vinyl has no major markings, just some faint lines that should not affect play. The cover has no splits or losses, a slight shadow of partial ring wear, a crease or two, but nice overall. The full color glossy paper inner sleeve is intact, a crease or two, and one small seam split on the bottom. One side is a band photo with logo, the other blank except for a small police badge pictured on the lower right side. Truly a nice 44+ year old copy or play and collect.

The second studio album by The Police, and a huge world wide hit that solidified the band as the most successful post punk new wave group of the 80’s. Big hits “Message In A Bottle” and “Walking On The Moon” remain relevant today. In the 2012 reworking of the Rolling Stone magazine Top 500 albums of all time, “Reggatta de Blanc” was listed at #372. If you collect vinyl from the rock era, this Lp is a must, and the Santa Maria pressing is the best vintage version.
