Davenport Sea Glass Origin

San Vicente Creek in Davenport near Santa Cruz, California, overflowed in the 1970s at Lundberg Studios (art glass manufacturer) where huge bins of end-of-day glass (scrap glass) were stored outside. These flood waters washed the glass into the creek eventually ending up in the Pacific Ocean at Davenport Beach near Santa Cruz, California, thus the name of the sea glass. Davenport sea glass is some of the most sought-after coveted sea glass in the world for its beauty and unique patterns.

Most of the Davenport sea glass I sell comes from a treasure hunter who lives near Santa Cruz, California, just south of Davenport Beach, who has been collecting sea glass for years by scouring the beaches and diving to the ocean floor under treacherous conditions in high surf revealing these exquisite sea glass jewels.
