Journal de voyage chez les peintres de la fête et
du vaudou en Haïti, is about Haitian Primitivism in art representing Voodoo in
the history of Haiti as documented by the author.
Mr. Drot had visited most of the painters and the
book describes their paintings; showing them working in their tropical gardens
visiting cockfighting, celebrating carnival, voodoo, living in paradise, in
tropical landscapes mixed with African animals, African traditional family
celebrations and a funeral ceremony.
