RHC 942 PUSH BUTTON ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/2 KEYS  7" JAPANNED FACE (14311)

WORKS PERFECTLY!  Vintage, circa 1890-1900, carried in the RHC 1897 catalog (see pic): READING HARDWARE CO mortise lock.  Push button with key, entry mortise has been cleaned and restored.

FACEPLATE:

Mortise lock has a Japanned face plate with a length of 7" and a width of 1 1/16" and thickness of 1/8". 

BACKSET:  Backset (the distance back from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".

DROP: The drop, (the distance from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion at the top of the key hole) is 3 1/8".

KNOBPOST:  The lock accommodates a standard 5/16" split knob post.

BOX: The mortise box itself is 3 1/2" deep from the front edge of the faceplate to the back of the box.  It is 5" high, 5/8" thick.

KNOB POST SHAFT:  The lock accommodates a 5/16" split shaft.

The lock is reversible.  The lock comes with two keys.
