Well known Plymouth born Artist.

Born in 1917 in Devonport, Plymouth.

Studied at Plymouth School of Art,  then won a scholarship to the Slade School of Art in London.

1947- degree from Royal college of Art.

Exhibitions- Royal Academy 1949/ 50's/60's.

Lived in Battersea, but always returned to Plymouth as a source of inspiration.

Large impressive semi abstract nudes amongst the palms.

Acrylic on paper on board. (It was the artists normal practice to paint on sections of paper then apply to board)

Unsigned, but I will enclose authentication which explains it was part of his studio sale at Plymouth Auction House.
