These beauties are based on Carbon Ti X straight pull CL disc hubs.
Quick note and bit of information on straight pull hubs here before I will give more details on this build.
Generally I’ve been pretty sceptical on SP hubs for many years and they are few reasons for that which I’m going to highlight here.
On all wheel builds but especially light weight like road racing ones or XC racing wheels I always start from hubs and their geometry as this is main factor to build stiff and strong wheels, then obviously overall machining, quality and durability considered as well.
Straight pull hubs in most cases have much smaller flanges compering to classic ones for j-bend spokes.
They are also not as wide spread apart to achieve good lateral stiffness and overall strength.
Most of the wheels I build are based on hubs with classic flanges as they offer much better geometry with their bigger flanges widely spread apart for perfect lateral stiffness and good strength.
SP hubs have been pushed in cycling industry in last good few years by big OEM wheel companies and wheel suppliers as they build massive volume of wheels and SP hubs are bit easier and quicker to lace up in to wheels with no room for mistake in lacing pattern. SP flanges are machined to be laced in one lacing pattern only.
Carbon Ti as brand have been making their hi-end components for nearly 20 years in Italy and most of us recognize that brand from their light titanium and carbon components like carbon chainrings, disc rotors and finishing kit parts.
Carbon Ti changed my approach to SP hubs some time ago with their fantastically engineered and finished hubs. They have best geometry for straight pull hubs on market with really big flanges similar or even bigger than classic j-bend hubs.
They are also widely spready apart so they have all the features to start building stiff and strong light weight carbon or alloy wheels.
That’s what all wheel builders like.
Machining, finishing, quality and anodizing is outstanding.

They are built with aerospace grade alloy, stainless steel and titanium.
Main hubs shell, freehub body, big 17mm axle and end caps are made of 7075-T6 alloy.
Main 56T ratchet ring is made of titanium with 4 pawls and springs made of stainless steel to even out tear and wear between different metals.
All hubs run on top quality Japanese SKF bearings with preload adjustment.
They come in 8 beautiful colours so you can tailor your wheels with funky colour of the hubs matching your bike.
Carbon Ti X SP hubs are laced to Farsports Hyper carbon rims and they are the lightest 45mm carbon rims on the market with weight of 385g for one rim.
They are made of Toray T800 carbon fiber, perfectly finished with 21mm internal and 28mm external width. These rims are hooked and have ideal internal diameter for modern 25/28mm+ tyres.
Building wheels with these rims is pure joy, so round and great quality they are. I truly love them.
Wheels are laced with Sapim CX-Ray best bladed spokes you can get for perfect balance of low overall weight and rotational mass, strength and lateral stiffness in wheels.
I think these Carbon Ti hubs paired with Farsports Hyper carbon rims make these fastest and lightest carbon wheels you can get.
