This is a beautiful coffee table book. This vintage coffee table book titled "El Escorial" is a fascinating story of the vast monastery palace that was the spiritual and political heart of Spain in the turbulent sixteenth century when, Europe erupted with religious discord and military rivalries, the new world beckoned with promises of rich colonial empires, Spain reached its imperial zenith. Philip II of Spain, arch-rival of Protestant England's Elizabeth I, built the Escorial to reflect his Catholic piety and the military might of Spain. This book is in excellent shape, and it offers a glimpse into Spain's past. 

Condition: Very good vintage preowned condition. No rips or writing in the book. Dust jacket and cover is mostly clean - small tear on top edge of dust jacket.. Binding is good. Some shelf wear/rubbing from age / use. Does not appear to have any writing in the text - clean copy. See all pictures.
