Roof Repair Strips Support - Kit

(Save your Convertible Hood & Window)

Colour: Black

- Is your rear window coming away from your Roof?

- Are you worried as winter is on the way, maybe you've started to get leaks through the gap?

- Do you not have £600-£2000 to hand, to fit a new convertible roof straight away?

We have a solution

Obviously the best thing to do when your window is falling out is to re-stitch the window in or buy a new roof. But if you don't have the money to buy and fit a roof, this could be a good option for you.

Do Check all the Photographs

(Please look at all the photos, and look at pictures 5 & 11 when the final long support is added, which helps tidy the repair, making it look nice and neat).

Semi permanent repair:

These Black Canvas supports are a very simple idea and made of Marine Strength Canvas to hold the top of the rear window in place to prevent the stitching coming undone completely and the window falling out. (Should last 6 years+).

As you can see the straps still let you put the roof down without any problems.

The supports are all added inside the roof, so the outside still looks as it does normally.

Save your roof using these 6 canvas supports.

You will receive::

5 x Small Canvas Supports (3.5cm x 5cm)

1 x Large Canvas Support. (7cm x 75cm)

Easy to install:

This is easy to fit and you secure the straps in place using a polyurethane sealant (weatherproof) such as:

- Everbuild Stixall (£6) from Amazon - Easy to use.

- Tiger seal (£9) from most car accessories shops, Tiger seal is more difficult to use & messy.

Anyone can apply the adhesive and they stick within 20seconds of holding the supports in place. (Please attach the support strips with the roof in the closed position).

They will take a good 4-8 hours to fully cure, so it's wise not to lower the roof for 24hours, to allow them to fully adhere.

It's best to apply the 5 small supports first to ensure you are happy and the roof still lowers.

Important / Where to glue:

See picture 7 (Paper Guide), it's best to glue at each end of the tab and leave the middle clear of glue so that the support can bend when you fold the roof down.

(If you put the glue/sealant on all of the canvas support it might not bend properly, and could make lowering your roof difficult)..

Final long Support: (To tidy up the repair):

Then once you are happy you can apply the larger long support to strengthen the repair and to make it look tidy.

Again only glue either side, don't glue the middle otherwise it might not bend).

As the long support is 75cm you may find it easier to have two pairs of hands fitting it.

(Or you could trim it in to two pieces and fit each side separately).

MK1 & MK2 roofs

These supports work well on MK1 and MK2 rear windows & roofs. They could possibly work on a Mk3 but we have not tested them on a Mk3. (If you have a Mk3 do get in touch).
