I am selling this vintage and collectable used Traveller’s Cheque from The Commercial Bank of Australia Limited.

Issued to Penelope Wood in South Australia on 25th September 1962 for £5 Australian Currency, this traveller’s cheque in blue and pink tones has a serial number of A043600. On the front of the cheque “PAID 16∙10∙62” is spelled out in perforations as well as a green paid date stamp while on the back is a purple “The State Savings Bank of South Australia – Mt Gambier issue date stamp. There is also an initialled 3d stamp duty stamp on the back over an embossed and raised 3d imprint on the right side. In the top left corner the payee has endorsed the cheque at the time of purchase. The perforations on left side are faint but still defined and it measures 19.2cms W x 9cms H.

This traveller’s cheque is in very good condition considering it is 62 years old. Unfortunately there is a small piece missing in the top left corner and a small tear top centre. There is what looks like sticky tape residue on back right top corner, age discolouration and minimal useage marks. The photos form part of the item’s description so please view them carefully. It has been stored and protected behind plastic for many years; this was the condition I received the item in from previous owner.

I am happy to respond to any questions you may have and I will combine postage if you contact me previous to payment so final invoice can reflect adjusted postage costs.
