Description

Founded in 1883, Gretsch has a longer history than Fender and Gibson. In late 2002, Gretsch began working with Fender to share marketing, production, and distribution. The company has been showing its willingness to keep evolving by introducing a wider range of players and adopting modern specs, etc. In recent years, it has been highly recognized as a favorite of big names such as Brian Setzer and Chet Atkins, and in Japan, it has been used by Ken Yokoyama, Yusuke Ciba, Kenichi Asai, and others. In recent years, the release of signature models by Ken Yokoyama, Yusuke Chiba, Kenichi Asai, and others has also become a hot topic in Japan.

This time, Gretsch announced a limited edition Gretsch Falcon in 2019, which was sold in very small quantities. 17-inch body, the "Falcon style" of Gretsch, with a vivid finish, and even the assembly has been arranged to create a new style of Gretsch. The assembly was also rearranged to create an ambitious piece. This model was sold out immediately after the limited sale, and then, due to popular demand, we decided to sell it again in limited quantities. This time, we have an item that was produced in 2019 and is in beautiful condition with little signs of use.

The specs are the classic Falcon style with a 17" wide, single cutaway, arched top body with laminated maple, 1959 style 2.75" body thickness and trestle bracing. Lake Placid blue color finish, combined with silver sparkle binding & truss cover, gives it a fresh look that is tight and tight. The maple neck features a pitch-black ebony fingerboard, and neo-classic thumbnails are used for position marks. Other features include a Falcon head with horizontal logo, adjustable-matic and pinned locking bar bridge (with ebony pedestal), silver pickguard with Gretsch logo and Falcon graphics, Jeweled Arrow control knobs, GRETSCH logoed B6 CP Bigsby unit (string-through type), dial-locking Grover Imperial locking tuners, and "THE FALCON" engraved plate on the head top.

The key to the sound is the TV Jones "Ray Butts Full Fidelity Filtertron" pickups, which reproduce the sound of the first Filtertrons, on both the rear and front. The pickups are equipped with the original "Squeezebox" capacitor, a reproduction of a vintage oil paper capacitor, and a "NO-LORD POT" that activates the bypass function when the pot is at full tension. The sound of this model is different from the low-priced models because it is made by Terada Gakki, which has a high reputation. It has a unique sweet boxy sound with a solid sound core, and the trestle bracing specs (1959 spec) and locking bar bridge give it a calculated core and a superb modern rock 'n' roll sound. The sound has a subtlety that does not break the line of the sound, while still maintaining the brightness that is typical of Gretsch. Although the output itself is not so high, the excellent balance of both rise and contour matches the hollow sound of the instrument itself, and even if you are not a Gretsch fan, the tone will impress you with a single stroke. It is also a great choice for hard picking and playing, so it is recommended for rock and punk players.

The body back has some minor scratches and dings, but there is almost no other damage that needs to be noted. The neck is in good condition and the truss rod has plenty of room on both the left and right sides. The guitar comes with the owner's manual, wrenches, and the original Gretsch logo hard case.
