Description

In Japan, the brand "Washburn" is known for the "N4" used by Nuno Bettencourt.

The brand is more widely recognized overseas than in Japan, and is actively developing not only electric guitars but also acoustic guitars, and has gained support from a wide range of players, especially for its original models with unique shapes.

This instrument is one such original model named "Chicago Series" and made in Japan.

What kind of a name is "Chicago" in spite of being made in Japan? I wonder what it is like to be called "Chicago" in spite of being made in Japan (laugh).

Moreover, it is a very rare prototype that was discovered at a certain instrument factory a few years ago!

The series itself seems to have been produced from the late 80's to the 90's, but there is nothing to indicate the year of production for this instrument, so it is unknown what year it was made.

It is a dinky type guitar in the common sense, but it has unique specs such as a curved body with an arched top and arched back, a set neck with a heel cut like a through neck, and a concord head, and was given a high-impact finish named Cracked Red, The guitar is a one-of-a-kind guitar.

The wood used is unknown, as there is no visible wood after removing all parts, but the "KC-100" that was regularly sold was described as having a maple body, rose fretboard, and maple set neck, so we wonder if this instrument is similar? It seems to be the same.

Are the pickups original? Front and center are quarter-pound type single coils, rear is humbucker SSH style with active booster.

Controls are as follows: knobs are master volume (pull for rear P.U. coil tap), booster level, and master tone.

The mini-switch is an on/off switch for each pickup, and this combination alone allows for such a wide variety of sound creation that it is hard to believe that the output is coming from a single guitar!

The bridge is a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo (made by Takeuchi), and the pegs are Gotoh.

The bridge is a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo (Takeuchi), and the pegs are Gotoh. Although the details of this prototype are unknown, it is a quality guitar that has three things in common: high playability characteristic of the dinky type, wide sound variation, and original looks!

There are some small scratches and slight dings on the body, one ding on the back of the second fret of the neck, and a paint crack on the neck binding, but none of the damage seems to be a problem for playing.

The rod cover and tremolo back panel are missing.

The frets are approximately 80% remaining, and the neck is currently straight with plenty of rod room.
