This is the Schneider-Kreuznach Componon-S 80mm F4 enlarging lens - made in Germany. It is is a high quality lens designed to enlarge negatives up to 6x7cm. It features an illuminated aperture scale and the option to disengage the click-stops. This is the model with the later barrel style that also features the aperture preset function. This allows you to set your preferred aperture, quickly open the lens fully with the lever to make adjustments and then easily set the lens back to the set aperture setting before exposing the photo paper. It has a 39mm x 1/26" screw thread mount (also known as M39 or Leica thread).

The lens has been gently used and is in very good condition. The glass parts (optics) are clear, free from scratches and there is no haze or any sign of fungus. It clicks smooth through the different apertures and the aperture preset function works as designed. The aperture blades are clean and there is no sign of oil or rust. There is a minimal amount of dust in the lens, which has no impact on the excellent performance of the lens. The front lens element shows light cleaning marks. It comes with the hard case and front lens cap.
