The years starting in 2016 were special years for Diana Krall.
She released a solo album, Turn Up the Quiet, and a collaboration with Tony Bennett, Love Is Here to Stay, and toured around the world, but that didn't keep her creative juices flowing, and she found time to do another recording with master Tommy Lipuma.
Just then, however, Lipuma passes away.
After losing an old production partner, he decided to make an album centering on "Bat Beautiful," which was his favorite and the last recording Lipuma had ever produced.
