Rare Vintage restored (the restoration is not complete, made by an unknown radio amateur) Morse telegraph key from a set of tape telegraph equipment used on the railways of Soviet Russia in the 20s of the 20th century. The key was produced at the former enterprise OJSC Russian Electrical Plants Siemens-Gal (the enterprise was founded in 1898), nationalized by the Bolsheviks after the October Revolution of 1917. The plant was named Petrograd State Telegraph Plant. The key is often called the "Imperial" key. Material brass.
The photo contains links to information from the Internet about this key from the Telegraph Key Museums. It can be concluded that the main design details are original. We can also conclude that during the restoration the wooden platform was replaced with a textolite one; some fasteners are not original (in my opinion, these are a nut, a spring, a bakelite handle...). Please see photos for completeness and condition. I'm selling what I bought at the flea market. I can’t evaluate the performance of the key, but I think that it is not entirely suitable for radio communication.
Key platform dimensions 115x70х11 mm (4.5x2.7х0.9"), Weight 363 grams (12.8 oz).
