Provenance: the Haddenham collection of English coins, 13 December 2023, Spink

Beautiful deep golden tone overlying cartwheel luster with choice fields. A gem.

At first look I thought this had been wiped on the obverse. On close inspection I see the it is practically as struck - but with the obverse fields crisscrossed with die polish marks. This makes it a fascinating example. A really choice and attractive top notch coin.
